If you want to help with the disaster relief efforts in Oklahoma the best thing for you to do is give monetary contributions to a verified and effective disaster relief organization. The Southern Baptist Convention has a Disaster Relief team through the North American Mission Board that is on site and currently all donations to the SBC Disaster Relief fund will go directly to relief efforts in Oklahoma.
You can donate by sending funds to the church with the designation “Oklahoma Disaster Relief” and we will forward it on to the Disaster Relief team or directly to the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. Or you can send your donations directly to NAMB.
In times like these it is noble that everyone wants to help, but we also need to be cautious. Unfortunately disasters are perfect opportunities for thieves and scammers to try to steal money that should be going to relief efforts. We urge you to choose a certified relief organization and to never give out your personal information over the phone.
