“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:4-7) MUSIC FOR SUNDAY, APRIL 20, 2008Last Sunday we had a great first Sunday back from the Easter break. Not really Large groups, but it sounded as if there were twice as many people singing than there actually was. The song “Taking a Stand” is such a powerful statement, the words and music really work together to impact people in such a way that it really does make you want to take a stand for Christ. This week the Choir will be singing “My Savior, My God” from the Easter program in both services. I again want to encourage everyone who might know the song to join us this Sunday as we sing. Please be in the Choir room at 8:00 am for the first service, and again at 10:30 am for the second. I am looking forward to worshiping with you this Sunday.Glen Carter will sing the Vocal Praise in both services.Mable Brown will play the piano and Pam Hagan will play the keyboard in the 8:15 service.Kathy Perry will play the piano and Jean Lueken will play the keyboard in the 10:45 service. The Praise Team will sing in the 10:45 service and the singers will be Kendall Tanner, Kathy Perry, Rick Matthiesen and Bradley Perry.Choir rehearsal will be at 6:00 pmPraise Team rehearsal will be at 7:00 pm with Kalyn Center, Erica Turilli, Kathy and Bradley Perry in attendance.PATRIOTIC PROGRAMThis years Patriotic Celebration will be more like at BIG MUSIC SUNDAY. We will sing two or three choir specials, recognize the Veterans, say the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the Star Spangled Banner, Remember those who died in wars and recognize their families. Scott will preach a good God and Country sermon and we will have a special time of prayer for America. That’s how we are going to do it, don’t ask me what we are singing yet, because I don’t know, but I do know that we will begin to work on the music in May. The presentation will be on Sunday Morning, June 29 in both services. That is Sunday before July 4, so everyone should still be in town. July 4 is on a Friday this year. I hope you will all mark your calendars now and plan on being a part of this special event.APRIL MUSIC SCHEDULESunday, April 20: Choir Practice 6:00 pm, Praise Team 7:00 pm with Kalyn C., Erica T., Kathy P., and Bradley P. in attendance.Sunday, April 27: Choir Practice 6:00 pm, Praise Team 7:00 pm with Sharon D, Nancy L., Kathy and Bradley P. in attendance.“Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable- if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise- dwell on these things.
