MUSIC FOR SUNDAY OCTOBER 14, 2007
Great job on Sunday proclaiming the good news that there is nothing to big for Jesus to handle. This Sunday we will be singing the Gospel song “If The Lord Is In It” in both services. It would be nice to have two very large groups this week (Hint, Hint) to sing in both services. Please be in the Choir room by 8:00 am for the 1st service and again by 10:30 for the second.
Evan Aldridge and Bradley Perry will sing the Vocal Praise in both services this week.
Jean Lueken will play the Piano and Pam Hagan will play the keyboard in the 8:15 service.
Kathy Perry will play the Piano and Virgie McGill will play the keyboard in the 10:45 service.
The Praise Team will sing and play in the 10:45 service. The singers will be Kendall Tanner, Erica Turilli, Kathy and Bradley Perry.
Choir rehearsal will begin at 5:30
Praise Team Practice will be at 7:00 pm with Cindy Muschany, Evette Eickelmann, Kathy and Bradley Perry in attendance.
BONUS REHEARSALS
Bonus rehearsals have begun. We are beginning our Sunday evening rehearsals at 5:30 now, and we will be beginning Wednesday rehearsals at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 7. These rehearsals are for your benefit, so please try to attend as many as possible between now and Christmas.
CHRISTMAS PROGRAM
It’s still not to late to be in our Christmas Eve celebration on December 4 at 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm with a light dinner for program participants and their family members at 6:00 pm. You will just need to attend two rehearsals a month beginning this month, October. I hope to see you in Choir.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES
In an earlier newsletter, I spoke to you about the importance of spiritual growth, and said that I would notify you of spiritual growth opportunities. The first opportunity is the Church Library. It is jam packed full of great books of all kinds for all levels of spiritual development. The best part is that it’s free, so if you get a book that you don’t like, you just bring it back the next time you’re at the church and get another one. The Church Library hours are from 9:00-9:30 am on Sunday morning, 5:30-6:00 pm on Sunday evenings and 6:30-7:00 pm on Wednesday evenings. There are also different bible studies that happen during the week that are at times when you aren’t normally in choir. Mary Ann Center conducts two ladies bible studies from 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays. The Monday group is about half through the study “Experiencing God” and the Friday group is just beginning the same study. If you are interested in either one of these groups you can contact Mary Ann Center at the Church office- 468-8044 between the hours of 8:00-5:00 pm. There is also another Ladies bible study that meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 pm they study various subjects and studies through the year. If you are interested in this Study contact Carol Lueken at 468-8756. In addition to these studies there will also be new one beginning this Wednesday, October 10 for Parents of Children from birth to adolescence from 6:00-7:30 pm. Facilitated by Don and Angie Fink, this class is designed for parents who seek to strengthen their role as Christian parents and to promote relationships with other parents. If you are interested in this class please contact Don and Angie Fink at 860-3438. There is also another Worship time and bible study for anyone between the ages of 18 and 29 that meets on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm. If you are interested in this class please contact Pastor Scott Perry here at the Church office between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. These classes are all in addition to Sunday School that meets from 9:30-10:30 am on Sunday Mornings as well as our 8:15 am and 10:45 am Worship times and our Wednesday evening Prayer meeting and bible study that starts at 7:00 pm. If you truly want to grow you will seek out any opportunity available, and the opportunities abound, just take your pick.
