“The Lord is my strength and my sheild; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart rejoices, and I praise Him with my song. (Psalm 28:7)

LAST SUNDAYS MUSIC

You sang beautifully last Sunday. You sang the Choral praise with such strength and clarity, but most importantly you sang the same way on the congregational music. Though one of our jobs is to sing special music, our main purpose is to lead in worship, and you did that beautifully. All praise goes to God.

TONIGHT

Don’t forget the make up choir rehearsal this evening in the choir room at 6:00 pm. We will also have Praise Team rehearsal immediately following the prayer meeting at 8:00 pm.

MUSIC FOR SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 10

This Sunday we will be singing the song “Let the River Flow” in both services. Please plan on singing in both services if you can. We will meet in the Choir room at 8:00 am for the 1st service and at 10:30 am for the second service. Choir rehearsal will be at 6:00 pm this evening. This will be the first rehearsal for our Christmas program.

Sharon Doyle will sing the vocal praise in both services.

Kathy Perry will play the piano and Virgie McGill will play the Keyboard in both services.
The Praise Team will sing in the 10:45 service. The singers will be Sharon Doyle, Evette Eickelmann, Nancy Logan, Linda Magruder, Kathy Perry and Don Smith.

CHRISTMAS CHOIR REHEARSALS BEGIN THIS WEEK.

Our Christmas program this year is titled “Christmas Is Forever” Unchanging Love In An Ever-Changing World. We will begin rehearsals this Sunday evening September 10 at 6:00 pm in the Choir room. Everyone is invited to participate. If you are not a regular Choir member please remember that you will need to begin attending at least two rehearsals a month beginning no later than October. If you have any questions please contact Evan at the Church office 468-8044.

NEW MUSIC INTERN

Bradley Perry will be our Music Intern this year. He has been participating in our music program for quite sometime, so he is no stranger to our music ministry. He will be directing the Choir once a month, leading in worship once a quarter, participating in Choir and Praise Team, and leading our Students in Worship on Wednesday evenings just to name a few of the things that he will be doing. I know that he will be a huge help and a wonderful addition to our staff.

MEMBER ACTIVITIES

Last week I started a members activities section to this newsletter. I want to make our members aware of the ministry activities that we are each involved in, and I want us to show support for each other.

Betty and George Scantlan, Mable and Kermit Brown lead a Worship service every fourth Sunday at Meremac Nursing Center. Betty and George also lead a Bible Study every other Tuesday. The Tuesday that they don’t lead the Bible study Lou Bayles goes and plays the piano and sings for the folks at Meremac Nursing Center.

Our own Glen Carter is a member of a gospel music trio named “Final Authority”. He travels and does several concerts each month, they sang here last spring. There concert schedule is as follows if any of you would like to attend one of these concerts.

Sept. 10 Mission Hill Baptist Church in Palmyra Mo. at 10:30 am, Sept. 17 Irondale First Assembly of God- Irondale Mo. 10:30 am and 1:30 pm, Sept. 23 New Beginnings Church in St. Charles MO. 6:00 pm, Sept 24, First Baptist Church in Bismarck, Mo. 10:30 am, Sept. 30 First Assembly of God in Potosi at 6:00 pm, Oct. 1 First Baptist Church in Lebanon, Mo. 7:00 pm, Oct. 7 Stout’s Creek Baptist Church in Ironton Mo. at 6:00 pm, Oct. 8 Liberty Baptist Church in Belgrade, Mo. 2:00 pm, Oct. 28 St. Clair High School, St. Clair, Mo. 6:00 pm, Oct. 29 Delasue Baptist Church in Delasue, Mo. 10:30 am, Nov. 5 Stout’s Creek Baptist Church in Ironton, Mo. 2:00 pm, Nov. 19 Corinth Baptist Church in Puxico, Mo. 2:00 pm, Dec. 10 St. Elizebeth Hall in Park Hills, MO. 6:00 pm.

If you are involved in different projects or ministries please let us know so that we can publish them in this news letter, and as a family we can lend our support and prayers.

ATTENDANCE CONFUSION

Please remember that if you are a choir member meeting attendance guidelines, which is at least two rehearsals a month and two worship services a month, or if you have talked to Evan if you aren’t going to meet these guidelines, that you can sing in Choir on any given Sunday, even if you haven’t been to the rehearsal the week before. I say this because I see people in the congregation and tell them that we missed them, and they say “well I wasn’t at rehearsal last week”. If you follow the rehearsal guidelines then you will have been introduced to all of the songs we will be singing for the next month and should feel fairly comfortable singing them. All of this to say you are always welcome to sing. It is understood that no one will be able to make every single rehearsal, and that all of us will have to miss sometimes. Please don’t let that stop you from serving the Lord in the Choir.
