“Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” (Colossians 3:6-7)

LAST SUNDAYS MUSIC

All I can say is “WOW!!!” about the way you sang last Sunday morning in both services. Thank you so much for singing with such conviction, and proclaming the Gospel message about God’s Grace so boldly, I am confident that God was glorified and singing through you as you ministered. I didn’t think it could get much better and then on Sunday evening we heard The Lesters sing and it was just icing on the cake. When Brian Lester called Glen Carter up on stage to sing, I thought that I would explode with pride. To have a member of our Choir recognized by such a group was just wonderful. I went home on such a spiritual and musical high just from the whole day, in fact I am still praising God today for what I saw and heard, and am so grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of it all. I am so proud of all of you for your committment and the work and ministry that you do, and the spirit in which you do it all.

MAKE UP CHOIR REHEARSAL

We will be having a make up Choir Rehearsal Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 30 at 6:00 pm. I hope you will all be able to attend. We will not have rehearsal on this Sunday evening September 3 due to the fact that it is Labor Day weekend, so we have scheduled a make up rehearsal for Wednesday September 6 at 6:00. At both of these rehearsals we will begin with the song we are singing the next Sunday, so if you have other church ministries and activities that you are involved in, you can just come and rehearse the song for the following Sunday and leave if you need to. The Praise Team will rehearse at 8:00 pm on both of these dates.

MUSIC FOR SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 3, 2006

This Sunday we will sing the song “Manna From Heaven” in both services. As always if you can sing in both services it would be so much appreciated. We meet in the Choir room for the 8:15 service at 8:00 am and for the 10:45 service at 10:30 am.

Kalyn Center will sing the Vocal Praise in both services.

Jean Lueken will play the piano and Maria Counts will play the keyboard in the 8:15 service.

Kathy Perry will play the piano and Virgie McGill will play the keyboard in the 10:45 service.

The praise team will sing and play in the 10:45 service only. The Praise Team singers will be Sharon Doyle, Evette Eickelmann, Nancy Logan, and Linda Magruder.

There will be no rehearsal on the evening of September 3. A make up rehearsal has been scheduled for Wednesay, September 6 at 6:00 pm, Praise Team 8:00 pm.

MEMBER ACTIVITIES

This Wednesday, August 30 at 7:00 pm after our make up Choir rehearsal, Jack Sohn will be leading worship during our Wednesday Worship time.

Don Smith also sang at the “Relay for Life” recently, and Virgie McGill played the Piano out at Spring Bluff this Past Sunday.

If you are participating in an activity, let Evan know so that we can publish it in our weekly newsletter. It is so great to see our Choir members involved in Ministry, we want to support you in that as much as possible.

CHRISTMAS CHOIR REHEARSALS BEGIN SOON

Christmas Choir rehearsals will begin on Sunday evening September 10 at 6:00 pm in the Choir room. This is open to anybody who wants to participate. We will begin each rehearsal with the Christmas program for at least 30 minutes and then move to the Sunday morning music after we finish work on the Christmas music. Please remember the Choir is a year round ministry, so if you are not singing in the Christmas program you may come at 6:30 for the second part of the rehearsal to rehearse our Sunday Morning music, or at 6:00 for those who are only singing in the Christmas program, and leave after we finish working on the Christmas Program. Please remember that if you are going to sing in the Christmas program that you will need to begin attending at least two rehearsals a month beginning in October. As always, child care and age appropriate activities are available during the rehearsal time as well as activities for teens and adults.
