OPEN CHOIR REHEARSAL
Thanks to all who attended the open Choir rehearsal. We had three visitors and two inactive members, plus several people who had been gone a while for various reasons. Out of the three visitors two will become members, and the two inactive members are going to return to active status. Please welcome our new members Kalyn Center and Bonnie Palmer, and welcome back Mike and Marcella Beers. It was also good to have Don and Angie Fink returning from maternity leave. If you wanted to attend but couldn’t make it, please feel free to attend and participate in any of our events or rehearsals.
CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST
Don’t forget that this Friday evening, August 25 at 7:00 pm in the fellowship hall is our Christmas in August celebration. If you are planning to participate in this years Christmas program you will want to load up the family, bring your favorite Christmas snack and come enjoy this time of fellowship. Child care is available by reservation only, please call the church office at 573-468-8044 to reserve a spot for your child. You will have the opportunity to hear this years Christmas program, watch last years Christmas program as well as watch an old Christmas movie, or fellowship with one another, you may also decide that you want to do a little bit of everything and that’s fine, because you can do it all when we celebrate Christmas in August this Friday evening.
MUSIC FOR SUNDAY, AUGUST 27, 2006
Great job in last Sundays services, God was really glorified. This Sunday we will be singing “Orphans of God” with Evette Eickelmann as soloist in both services. If at all possible please plan to sing in both services. We will meet in the Choir Room at 8:00 am for the early service and at 10:30 am for the second service.
Fran Rohrer will sing the Vocal Praise in both services.
Mable Brown will play the piano and Fran Rohrer will play the keyboard in the 8:15 services.
Kathy Perry will play the piano and Pam Hagan will play the keyboard in the 10:45 service.
The Praise team will sing in the 10:45 service only. The praise team singers will be Sharon Doyle- Soprano, Nancy Logan- Alto, Don Smith- Tenor, and Bradley Perry- Bass.
The Lesters will be in concert this Sunday evening at 6:00 pm. There will be no rehearsals. A make-up rehearsal is scheduled for Wednesday August 30 at 6:00 pm.
THE LESTERS IN CONCERT THIS SUNDAY
The well known Gospel group “The Lesters” will be in concert, this Sunday evening August 27 at 6:00 pm in the Church Auditorium. You will enjoy the wide variety of music this group sings. Please invite your Friends, Family, neighbors, co-workers and acquaintances to this community wide event. A love offering will be taken, and we will have an ice cream fellowship immediately following the concert in the fellowship hall. If you would like to make homemade ice cream, please contact Lester Turilli at 927-4466.
REHEARSAL CHANGES
Please note that we will not be having rehearsals this Sunday evening August 27 due to the concert, or on Sunday evening September 3 due to the fact that it is a holiday weekend. We will hold make up rehearsals for these two dates at 6:00 pm on Wednesday August 30 and again at 6:00 pm on Wednesday September 6. The rehearsals will be one hour in length. The Praise Team will rehearse at 8:00 pm in the Auditorium on both of these dates.
SPECIAL WEDNESDAY WORSHIP
Our very own Jack Sohn will lead a special worship set during the Wednesday worship time at 7:00 pm on Wednesday August 30 immediately following or make-up choir rehearsal. I hope you will all be there for moral support as well as to experience his ministry.
CHRISTMAS CHOIR REHEARSALS BEGIN SOON
Choir rehearsals for this years Christmas program will begin at 6:00 pm on Sunday evening September 10. If you love Christmas, and you like to sing and Worship God, this is the program for you to be in. Everyone is welcome to participate. If you plan on singing in the Christmas program you will need to begin attending two rehearsals a month beginning in October.
