On February 24th and 25th the young people of Temple Baptist Church are participating in World Vision’s annual 30 Hour Famine because of their concern about what hunger means for children living in poverty.
“More than 29,000 children die every day from hunger and other preventable causes. But it takes only $30 to feed and care for a hungry child for a month – and $360 to feed a child for a whole year.”
Students ask for sponsor donations as they go 30 hours without food. They experience real hunger and participate in activities that help them better understand life in developing countries. The teens also take part in contests, games and community service projects to help others here in our city.
The funds raised during the 30 Hour Famine will be used to help feed hungry children and families all over the world. Just $30 feeds and cares for a needy child for a month. In 2005, more than one million teens in 21 countries collectively raised more than $11,000,000 to fight world hunger through the 30 Hour Famine. Forty of those students and $10,000 of that money was from our little town and our little youth group. Students can make a difference!

If you would like to help donate money to the World Vision 30 Hour Famine by sponsoring our students at Temple Baptist Church then there are several ways you can do this.
1. You can find a student who is participating in the famine and sponsor them as they go for 30 hours without food to raise money.
2. You can send money to Temple Baptist Church with an envelope marked World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine. (all checks payable to World Vision)
3. You can donate online. I have set up a secure method to donate through pay pal below. 100% of the proceeds will go to Word Vision and will sponsor our students in going without food for 30 hours.
